A keen Ornithologist Geoff can watch Tree Creepers, Nuthatches, and Spotted Woodpeckers whilst he throws on the wheel (the clay can go in any direction!!)


Most of the thrown pieces is with Claymans fine white stoneware. The glazes concentrated on at the moment are dry white or porcelain white. Dry turquoise is then sprayed over the top. Each firing produces a different effect, you never know what you will find until the kiln is opened.


Geoff’s inspiration for thrown forms and glazes is taken from an interest in Astronomy, the night sky, the remarkable change of the planets and the magical movement of the stars can be seen in the vessels
